The Vision
Picture of the author
‘We set-out to create an object that reflected an contemporary take on stained glass. Our journey towards creating this object took an unforeseen turn, unveiling a remarkable piece of glass born from our experimentation. Within this piece, we found a sudden softness in solid form, an unexpected flexibility in defined lines. Enthralled by this revelation, we recognised that it was our path to place this gem at the forefront of our design. We wanted to showcase the allure of this discovery, allowing others to be equally mesmerised by this interplay of light and contrasting forces. And here it stands before you, a room divider with glass, almost liquid. On the edge of movement like a curtain swaying in the breeze, frozen in time. A testament to our exploration and our love for glass.’

The Craft
We employed a technique called slumping to craft our glass pieces. Through this method, glass is carefully heated and formed to create depth and a renewed tactility. We have used this craft to give glass sheets the movement of a curtain caught in a gentle breeze.
We have shape each piece by hand, giving it with our time and attention to detail. The result is a collectible room divider that showcase the flexibility and possibilities of glass Contact us today to learn more about our process and discover how our unique piece can enhance your space.

About Max
Studio Maximilian Beck aims to capture natural phenomena in order to create objects for living purposes since. The main inspiration lies in the observation of forces that shape our world and the way light affects it.
The mostly sculptural works are created through an intuitive practice, a dialog between hand and material. The significance of its functional fulfilment is subordinate, with a greater emphasis placed on conceptual design with a narrative momentum.
The tension between raw mass and fragile structure in particular marks Maximilian Beck's work and finds its expression in ever new forms.
